* For no time, use the present simple. You may have learnt previously that present simple means present time. It does not, and it’s very important that you remember this.
* For present time, you can use three different tenses depending on what kind of present time you mean. If you want to talk about things which are ongoing or incomplete at the time of speaking, use present continuous. If you want to talk about results and life experiences use present perfect. You may have learnt previously that the present perfect means past time. It does not, and it’s very important that you remember this too. If you want to talk about facts and opinions which are only true for the moment of speaking, then use the present simple tense together with a present time word. For example: Currently, this market is very difficult to do business in. Or The company has 200 employees at the moment. If you don’t include the time word, your reader or listener will assume that your opinion is always like this.
* For past time, generally you can just use the past simple You may have learnt the past continuous and past perfect tenses in high school, but you don’t really need to worry about these two tenses, as they are not so common in business English, or even in everyday conversational English. They are more used in literature, or in telling stories.
* For future time, previously you probably learnt that will is used for the future. Unfortunately, the future is not simple, and there are in fact many different future chunks, depending on what kind of future you want to express.
Do the next task to really make sure you understand what you have just learnt.
