When it comes to
- When it comes to playing basketball, Jack is second to none in his school.
說到打籃球，傑克可是不輸給他學校的任何人。
★ when it comes to 的 to 是介系詞，後面接的動詞改為動名詞 playing。
- When it comes to love , no one is wise in his own affairs.
一談到愛情，人多半皆是當局者迷。
★ when it comes to 後面接名詞 love。
2. 一……，就……
As soon as ..
The moment ...
Upon V-ing, ...
- As soon as he saw the suspect, he called the police.
= Upon seeing the suspect, he called the police.
他一看到嫌疑犯，就馬上打電話給警方。
注意！用 upon V-ing 的句子，要特別注意兩邊的主詞為同一人，當主詞不同時，就可能不能改寫。我們看下面的示範：
☑ As soon as we saw the thief, he ran away.
當我們一看見小偷，他拔腿就跑。
☒ Upon seeing the thief, he ran away.
（左半句主詞為 we，右半句主詞為 he）
3. 一旦……，就……
Once ...
- Once you get into the habit of smoking, it’ll be hard to quit.
你一旦養成抽菸的壞習慣，就很難戒除。 - Once it passes into October, the weather will get really cold.
這裡一旦進入了十月，天氣就會變得很冷。
