This week we’re going to take a look at some set-phrases you can use to deal with intellectual property rights issues. This is a tricky area of customer relations. Good relations can be broken if you discover that your customer has been using your intellectual property without your permission. Let’s look at how to give permission, and how to react if you find your rights have been abused.
Task 1: Sort the set-phrases with ‘have’ into the table below.

*Notice that set-phrases with ‘I’ (you can also use ‘we’) are for ‘taking negative action’, while set-phrases with ‘you’ are for ‘giving permission’.
*The taking negative action set-phrases can be used for other situations where you need to take negative action, not just issues with IPR. For example, your customer may have delayed payment, or your supplier may not have delivered the goods you ordered on time.
*If you are threatening legal action, these set-phrases are also useful.
