confidence 一字除了在一般情境常用之外，在各類英檢考試中更是高頻單字。

討論關於 confidence 相關的話題便是寫作和口說的熱門題目。例如：描述自己靠自信心克服困難等。

更重要的是，在 TOEFL/IELTS 的閱讀理解部分，confidence 一字就會依照文章的前後文 (context) 差異而考不同詞性與釋義之題目。

例5 ▶ The billionaire felt it necessary to share, in confidence, many details of his failed marriage with his divorce lawyer, as these factors would undoubtedly come to light throughout the later proceedings.
